PeBeKa has built a surface air conditioning station at the St. Jakub shaft SG -1 belonging to KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. O/ZG Polkowice - Sieroszowice. A further part of the investment were ice water pipelines, three-chambered ice water feeder and pumping station, underground main water pipelines, control-measurement and reduction nodes, air-conditioning points and water air coolers.
Central Air-conditioning in the ZG Polkowice-Sieroszowice mine
Investor: KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Branch of ZG Polkowice-Sieroszowice
Duration: 2009 - 2011.
Additional technical data:
• Cooling capacity of a 15.0 MW surface air conditioning station.
• Chilled water temperature + 2º C / + 22ºC
• Ice water flow 645 m3/h
• Compressor system of chilled water aggregates with cooling towers, operating as the first and second stage of the cascade.

Project outline
PeBeKa S.A. has specialized in the comprehensive construction of central air-conditioning systems for the mine. It creates such systems for the needs of LGOM for over a dozen years, using the latest technologies.
Greatest challenges
The increase in the temperature prevailing in the excavations is related to the increase in the depth of the deposit, the increasing distance of the exploitation fields from the downhill shafts supplying air to the mine and the use of a large number of machines with internal combustion engines.
Therefore, despite intensive ventilation, the air supplied is hot and needs to be cooled to a temperature that allows work to be carried out by people - that is, not exceeding 28 Celsius degrees!
