PeBeKa with Polish Innovation Award
The technology of mechanical breaking of rock by way of heading machines, developed and implemented in KGHM PM S.A.'s mines by PeBeKa S.A., was honoured with the Polish Innovation Award.
This prestigious distinction was received by Stanisław Siewierski, company Management Board President, on 27 October during the 4th edition of the Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship in Lubin.
PeBeKa S.A., as the first company in Poland used a heading machine for drivage of hard rock workings, where copper deposits are found. This award-winning innovative method is a part of the project "Innovative methods of accessing deep copper ore deposits” carried out by a consortium comprising - in addition to PeBeKa - KGHM Cuprum (as leader), AGH University of Mining and Technology, Wrocław University of Science and Technology and the Central Mining Institute (GIG).
The Polish Innovation Award received by Mr Stanisław Siewierski, company Management Board President, is awarded by the Polish Entrepreneurship Agency and the Entrepreneurship Forum of the Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily. This distinction is awarded to most innovative Polish business entities, university-level schools and institutions whose R&D work deliverables find applications in and contribute to the development of different branches of the economy.
