KRWP department completed the drilling of the Tomaszów Mazowiecki GT-1 hole.

The drilling depth reached 1672 m.

Currently works related to the partial elimination of the hole and preparation of the hole for carrying out hydrogeological investigations are in progress.

The aim of the drilling is to test the possibility of the city achieving energy independence thanks to geothermal energy - the most modern renewable energy available today. The heat generated by water resources can be used, inter alia, in the municipal heating network for heating buildings and flats, it will also significantly improve the air quality.
