PeBeKa tests second rig
The drilling division's stock of machines was enlarged by a second Drillmec drilling rig. The machine is being assembled and tested in Szczyglice, where it will drill hole 787 to be used for exploring and documenting richness of the deposits.
The new G55 CE rig is smaller than the Drillmec MR 6000 machine that has been at work since the end of 2013. Its hook load is accordingly smaller - 55 instead of 136 tonnes. These parameters should work out well in drilling operations down to approx. one thousand metres, where a large rig does not have to be used.
The Drillmec G55 CE rig distinguishes itself with its advanced technical capacity. Due to its size, the machine is very mobile - it can be swiftly disassembled, transported and set up at another drilling order location. It also uses less power and does not require such a numerous team as MR 6000.
The rig was transported in parts from Italy to Poland for several weeks. The last lorry with the components of the ordered machine reached Szczyglice near Głogów on 10 May 2016. Currently the rig is undergoing tests carried out by the employees of the Surface Drilling Work Management in co-operation with specialists of the Italian Drillmec company, explains Andrzej Cozac, surface drilling chief engineer. Once the assembly is complete, our team training will start and will be continued over four weeks after the drilling starts.
Together with the rig, additional technical and social containers were purchased (dress rooms, repair shop, hydrophore station).
