PeBeKa consistently implements its Strategy on external markets
Przedsiębiorstwo Budowy Kopalń PeBeKa S.A., a company of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Capital Group in Lubin, will soon commence the barehole to search for medicinal waters for the Municipality of Lądek Zdrój.
On June 18, 2018, at the registered office in PeBeKa S.A. in Lubin, a contract was signed for the execution of the task entitled: "Searching for thermal waters with LZT-1 barehole in Lądek - Zdrój".
The task implemented by the Municipality of Lądek-Zdrój is financed from the funds of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Warsaw, which granted the Municipality total funds to search for thermal waters. A subsidy of a total value of over PLN 18 million will be spent for the completion of a 2.5 km geothermal barehole, which may give an impulse for the further, intensive development of Lądek Zdrój.
- Searching for thermal waters is a difficult geological task, connected with the necessity of making deep and quite expensive drilling – says Jarosław Danielkiewicz acting as the President of the Management Board at PeBeKa S.A. - Initial research indicates the presence of a large water reservoir. Our task will be to drill the hole to a depth of approximately 2500 m to the water table, and then to test the composition, temperature and efficiency of water.
Lądek Zdrój is located in a picturesque corner of the south-eastern part of the Kłodzko Valley. It is the oldest spa in Poland and also one of the best known in Europe. The healing properties of local sulphide and radium springs were known already in the 13th century and successfully used in the treatment of joint diseases and restoring energy and vitality to the body.
