Drill site launched!
On September 26th, 2018, in Lądek-Zdrój the drilling of the LZT-1 geothermal well began in a ceremonial atmosphere.
The ceremonial commencement of works on the drill site was inaugurated by the mayor of Lądek-Zdrój Roman Kaczmarczyk, accompanied by distinguished guests, in particular the Chief of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister Michał Dworczyk, Chief State Geologist Mariusz Orion Jędryska, and the Governor of Lower Silesia Paweł Hryniak. The contractor of this strategic investment, long-awaited by the city and the region is a mine construction company - Przedsiębiorstwo Budowy Kopalń PeBeKa.
Earlier this year, on June 18th, a contract for works related to the exploration of thermal waters with the LZT-1 well in Lądek-Zdrój was signed at the headquarters of PeBeKa S.A. in Lubin. The Polish-Norwegian-Icelandic geological project assumes that the 2.5 km deep well drilled by PeBeKa S.A. will reach water deposits with a temperature of about 70°C and a capacity of about 50 m³/h. It is planned to use the heat coming from the opening for heating the city and for balneological purposes (use of thermal waters in medicine). In just a few months it will become clear what geothermal resources the city will have.
Przedsiębiorstwo Budowy Kopalń PeBeKa S.A. was represented by Andrzej Cozac, Chief Drilling Engineer, and Jan Lubaś, Drilling Department Manager.
