PeBeKa S.A. at Bengal Global Business Summit 2018

The company Przedsiębiorstwo Budowy Kopalń PeBeKa S.A. presented its business offer at the Bengal Global Business Summit 2018 held in Kolkata, India on 16-17 January 2018.

We have extensive know-how, experience and competences which we would like to use in the Indian market, primarily in the area of shaft sinking and the management of comprehensive projects in the power industry, said PeBeKa CEO Mirosław Skowron, presenting the company's business offer at the Bengal Global Business Summit held in Kolkata, India.

PeBeKa's representatives were members of the delegation of the Polish business community which accompanied the official delegation of the Government of Poland led by Deputy Energy Minister Grzegorz Tobiszewski and Deputy Foreign Minister Marek Magierowski.

The PeBeKa executives together with the representative of the company KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. responsible for the development of the KGHM Group in international markets participated in a series of business meetings, among others with the executives of Coal India Limited (https://www.coalindia.in/), the representatives of Indian entrepreneurs invited by IPCCI, as well as Energy Minister Sovandeb Chattopadhyay, who visited the Polish pavilion at the Bengal Global Business Summit.

It is no secret that PeBeKa, the contractor of all 30 shafts operated in the KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. copper ore mines, intends in the nearest future to enter the Indian market with a view to executing projects in the mining and power industries. For some time the company has been monitoring carefully the Indian market and considering seriously the possibility of performing contracts for specialist mining operations, comprehensive shaft sinking projects, as well as project management and execution in the power industry.

For PeBeKa and the other participating Polish companies, the Polish-Indian business summit held in Kolkata was an opportunity to present their business offers, to establish new contacts with Indian companies, and to initiate talks on future cooperation connected with the Indian mining and power industries.

The first step in the process of building mutual business and economic relationships with India was taken in November 2017, when PeBeKa CEO Mirosław Skowron signed a Letter of Intent with Gayatri Projects Limited, a company with extensive experience in the execution of large-scale mining projects and a leading bidder for shaft sinking projects in the Indian market. The letter was a mutual declaration of the parties’ intention to establish cooperation in such areas as mine construction and specialist construction projects in the territory of India.

Besides PeBeKa representatives’ participation in the Bengal Global Business Summit 2018, the signing of the Letter of Intent is being followed by technical visits of PeBeKa engineers. During the next two weeks they will be presenting the company's potential and offer to the representatives of the mining and power industries all over the Indian subcontinent.
